The Rumraket story:
In the spring of 2003 the five core members of Efterklang recorded 5 songs that they wanted to release as an EP with three bonus video collages from the cinematographer Karim Ghahwagi. Very few people knew who Efterklang were at the time, so they had to release it themselves.

The Ep was named Springer and the label was named Rumraket (Danish for Space Rocket). Springer came in a handmade package of white fake fur and was only produced in 500 copies.

A year later Efterklang signed with the british label The Leaf Label and in the fall of 2004 the album Tripper was released worldwide. Alongside with the Leaf Label release Efterklang produced a 1000 handmade covers and included bonus videomaterial on a special limited Rumraket release of Tripper.

Summer 2005 marked a new beginning for Rumraket. Grizzly Bear from Brooklyn was signed as the first non-Efterklang related project, and distribution deals with European companies where initiated. The label was now upgraded to something you could call a proper record company with plans and now also history of releasing great music from great artists from all over the world.

September 2011 Rumraket released 'Colonies' by American artist Canon Blue. It marked a new chapter for Rumraket as it was the last 'non-Efterklang' release for the label. Today Rumraket only releases Efterklang titles.
